A young man who punched a man in a local nightclub has been convicted and fined.
Dean Donaldson (24) of 8 Port Roose, Roosky, county Leitrim pleaded guilty to assault causing harm arising from an incident on September 18, 2022 at Eden Nightclub, Longford.

The injured party had blood on his shirt and his lip was swollen. Mr Donaldson gave a voluntary caution statement where he admitted hitting another male with a closed fist on the nose.
The defendant alleged the injured party had started an altercation with him and his girlfriend.
Photographs of the injury sustained were previously shown to the court and he has made a full recovery.
Judge Bernadette Owens previously adjourned the case to allow the defendant, who had €200 in compensation, to come up with an additional €300.

There was no victim impact statement forthcoming.
Mr Donaldson had 19 previous convictions.
Solicitor John Quinn said his client now had the full €500 in compensation for the victim in court.
"He was extremely apologetic and he assisted the State big time because there was supposed to be CCTV and there's not, but he came forward and confirmed outright he was pleading guilty," he added.
Judge Owens welcomed the fact compensation was paid and decided to convict him and impose a €300 fine with four days in default.
