Longford man pleads guilty to cannabis possesion following Garda search

A man has pleaded guilty to being in possession of drugs for sale or supply following a Garda search operation in Longford one and a half years ago.


Trevor Kelly of 16 Ardeevan, Longford, town was arraigned at last week's sitting of Longford Circuit Criminal Court and he admitted having cannabis for sale or supply at his home address on May 23, 2023.

The defendant was also arraigned and pleaded guilty to a charge of being in possession of cannabis on the same date and at the same location.


Counsel for the defendant, Kieran Collins BL, told Judge Kenneth Connolly Mr Kelly has "no previous convictions and a full employment history".

Mr Kelly was released on bail and the case was adjourned for the sentencing hearing on May 7, 2025.
