Pucked tells the story of the young and ambitious Matty Daly and it is written and performed by Cathal Ryan

Pucked is a fast paced, comedic, theatrical, one-man blockbuster and it is coming to Longford’s Backstage Theatre on Thursday, February 20 at 8pm.


Pucked tells the story of the young and ambitious Matty Daly. Immersed in the GAA from birth, Matty has one dream and one dream only, to play on his senior team.


When Matty finally gets called up, we join him as he learns the hard way that playing senior isn’t everything it’s cracked up to be.


Pucked is an electric comedy with exceptional theatricality for GAA and theatre fans alike.

It is a hysterically relatable one man show about the GAA. It covers everything through the eyes of a young man trying to make his senior team from winning matches to toxic masculinity. It's all there.

Pucked enjoyed a sold out run in 2022 and was enjoyed by both GAA and Theatre heads.


Pucked is written and performed by Cathal Ryan from Thurles, Co Tipperary, a young man who grew up in the world of the GAA.
