UPDATE: ESB warns some areas could remain without power for over a week following Storm Éowyn
The ESB has warned that some of the worst impacted areas from Storm Éowyn may be without power for over a week.
As Met Éireann's Red and Orange wind warnings have now been lifted across the country, ESB crews have been fully deployed to begin assessing the damage caused at fault sites and commence restoration.
The unprecedented storm caused extensive and widespread damage to electricity infrastructure on Friday, resulting in 768,000 customers losing power. As of Friday evening, power has been restored to 143,000 customers.

The ESB said that power restoration to the remaining 625,000 customers will continue into Friday night and again on Saturday morning. They said that they expect to make good progress restoring electricity supplies over the weekend and into next week.
However, they added that given the extent of the damage from the storm, a full restoration of power to all households will take more than a week in the worst impacted areas.
For anyone still impacted by the power outages, they can check local estimated restoration times throughout the weekend on www.PowerCheck.ie.
Further notices will be issued on Saturday morning.
