Water supply disruptions across Longford in wake of Storm Éowyn

Uisce Éireann crews are mobilising across Longford to assess the damage caused by Storm Éowyn overnight and early this morning.

Several water treatment plants are experiencing power outages, leading to some facilities shutting down.

Where possible, backup generators are being used to operate the plants.

As a result of the interruption in power, water levels in reservoirs around the County have dropped to low levels.

Uisce Éireann customers will experience some reduced pressure and supply interruptions over the course of today and over the weekend.

To protect the water supply for our community's most vulnerable members, including hospitals, nursing homes, and those who are medically vulnerable, we urge customers to conserve water whenever possible while we work to resolve the outages.

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
