Longford has woken up to chaos and destruction this morning after a night of strong winds throughout the nation caused by Storm Éowyn.
Trees have been uprooted, resulting in blocked roads and thousands are now without power in various parts of Longford
Longford's Status Red warning continues until 11am on Friday with a Status Orange - Wind Warning for Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Connacht, Longford, Louth, Meath, Westmeath following from 12:00 to 14:00.

All non-urgent health services are cancelled on Friday, January 24 due to Storm Éowyn. This includes outpatient appointments in hospitals, clinics in primary care centres and day care services for older people. Services which involve staff travelling to client homes including home help, therapies, public health nursing are also cancelled.
The Arva road to Longford is blocked by a fallen tree.
