Gardai investigating murder of woman in Cavan
Gardai are investigating the murder of a woman in Co Cavan.
Gardai said on Sunday that they continue to investigate a “serious incident which occurred at a domestic residence” in a rural area near Ballyconnell.
It comes after the discovery of the woman’s body late on Saturday night.

One man has been arrested while another man was taken to hospital.
The woman, aged in her 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her body was taken to Cavan General Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
A man, aged in his 60s, was also taken to Cavan General Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
His condition was described as serious but stable.
The scene has been preserved for examination by the Garda Technical Bureau.
Another man, aged in his 30s, was arrested at a separate location and detained at a Cavan garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
The investigation is being led from an incident room at Cavan Garda Station.
A senior investigating officer and family liaison officer are to be appointed.
Investigating gardaí are appealing for witnesses and those with information to come forward.
Anyone who travelled in the area of Kilnavert, Ballyconnell, Co Cavan between 8.30pm and 9.30pm on Saturday is asked to provide gardai with any available camera footage, including dashcam recordings.
