A defendant accused of possessing a quantity of drugs and a sum of money found in a Garda raid will return before Longford District Court in March.
John McDonagh (46) of 15 Ardeevan, Longford faces three charges. Mr McDonagh is accused of the unlawful possession of cannabis, possession cash €1,585 the proceeds of crime, and possession of cannabis for sale of supply on May 23 2023 at his home address.
Before accepting jurisdiction of the matter, Judge Bernadette Owens asked for an outline of the charges against the defendant.

Sgt Mahon said the unit discovered cannabis to the value of €650 and €1,500.
The officer alleged that when the defendant was arrested he made a full admission and said the cash was the proceeds of selling the drugs. Mr McDonagh was represented in proceedings by solicitor Fiona Baxter.

Judge Owens accepted jurisdiction over the matter, and adjourned the case to March 18, 2024 to allow for disclosure.
