“The run finished up in Lisryan where we had burgers and food for everybody,” said Marie

“It was great, there was a big crowd and we were very happy with the day.”

The Run itself was set up by the Creamer Brothers many years ago.

“It's Eamonn and Gabriel Creamer that really organise it and we just help out. They do it every year to get funds for the Christmas Lights because obviously, we don’t have funding as such we just use whatever we’re able to raise ourselves,” explained Marie.

“There was a good crowd out to see it.”

The money has not been counted yet so the exact amount of money raised is not yet known, however the entry fee amounts to €20 each and 68 tractors were in attendance, as well according to Marie donations are still coming in today with people popping down to the Mart with funds.

“We always make the kind of over a thousand euros but I don’t know what the full figure is yet because there’s still lots of donations coming in.

All of the funding is for the Granard Christmas lights which should be taking place on Sunday, 8 December.
“I’m not 100% sure right now but that’s what we have agreed on,” said Marie.

The Christmas Lights will be turning on around 6pm on 8 December however, she made clear that this was subject to change.
The weekend of the Christmas lights as will be stocked full of Christmas cheer as the Knights and Conquests Yuletide Fair that will be taking place on Saturday, 7 December from 12 - 5pm.

There is also a Christmas Craft Fair taking place the week before and the week after the Christmas lights event so there will be no trouble finding some festive activities to enjoy with the whole family.
