A young lady who parted with her hair to raise funds for LauraLynn has amassed €500 of her €1,000 target.
Nine year old Sophie Lewington had her golden locks shorn after taking part in Locks of Love for LauraLynn's Hair Donation Fundraiser.

Sophie's fundraising page on iDonate.ie saw her reach €500 so far and her fundraising page will be still active until the end of October.
“I've chosen to fundraise for LauraLynn Ireland's Children's Hospice. All funds raised here will go directly to this great cause. I hope you can help me,” Sophie said on the page.

Proud grandmother, Caroline Hogan said: “She has been talking about donating hair to charity so that it could be used for a wig for patients that might need one. For the last few years she could only get her hair trimmed as it needed to be a certain length for a wig.”
Sophie goes to St Josephs NS, and her mother, Aoife Hogan, helped her set up her fundraising page. “She is delighted with what she has raised so far.

“She is liking her new hairstyle and hopes that her golden locks will help make a new wig for someone in need of it,” Caroline told the Leader.
