Laura Pakenham
Laura Pakenham of Lisryan has been nominated for the Oireachtas Young Star of the Year Award. The nomination comes as a result of her work in Irish Language media.
Ms Pakenham graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a Bachelors of Education through Irish and is one of only 34 people in the state's history to do so.
She has spoken at Leinster House, addressing the members of the Committee of the Irish Language, The Gaeltacht and the Irish Speaking Community regarding the hopes for the language.

Laura currently has a successful TikTok account through which she spreads the Irish Language to her almost twenty five thousand followers and she has appeared on Virgin Media’s dating show Grá ar an Trá.

The Young Star of the Year Award will be decided on by public votes. This can be done by texting ‘GRADAM1’ to 51500 every day up until 19 October.
