Man was ineligible for an early restoration as this was his second disqualification
A driver who applied for the early restoration of his licence having received a six year motoring ban four years ago was told he was ineligible.
Martynas Dambrauskas (33) of 7 Auburn Court, Pound Street, Edgeworthstown made the application to Longford District Court for the restoration of his driving licence.
The defendant received a motoring ban for driving without a licence, insurance, or tax when convicted on January 21, 2020. Mr Dambrauskas was disqualified for a period of six years on that occasion.

The matter initially came before Judge Bernadette Owens the previous week, however the State requested an adjournment to check details of the disqualification.
Sergeant Enda Daly informed the court at last week's sitting that the defendant received a previous disqualification in 2017, and was ineligible for an early restoration as this was his second disqualification.

Judge Owens explained to Mr Dambrauskas that early restoration of licence is available to driving bans over two years and only if the motorist has not had a previous ban.
