Ellen Madden, founder of Down the Floral Path, has successfully completed the ACORNS programme – a highly-successful development initiative to support early-stage female entrepreneurs living in rural Ireland.

And she is encouraging other females in county Longford to apply for the next cycle of the free business development programme, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.

ACORNS has been providing a decade of support for female entrepreneurship in rural Ireland and has recently launched the 10th cycle of the business development programme.

The deadline for applications for this special 10th anniversary cycle is midnight, September 20. There are up to 50 places available for ACORNS 10. Those wishing to receive an application form should register on the website (www.acorns.ie).

Ellen Madden is the founder of Down the Floral Path, www.downthefloralpath.com, which is a floral studio, based in Longford.

Having studied floristry and worked in some of the most beautiful flower shops in Paris for many years, Ellen moved back to Ireland and set up her business in 2021. Her inspiration for the business comes from the opulence of Paris combined with the relaxed, natural Irish countryside.

Ellen Madden said, “ACORNS dispelled the sense of being overwhelmed about what to with my business and how to go about doing it. Having tasks to do before each round-table meeting helped me to focus on specific areas and talking through issues with the other participants was very beneficial.”
