Longford Ladies captain Caoimhe McCormack, store manager Martina Murray, ladies vice-captain Grace Kenny and ladies vice-captain Niamh Brady were pictured at the opening of the new Lidl store.
The recently reopened Lidl Store on the Dublin Road, Longford has proven very popular with Longford shoppers.
The store reopened on August 8th and has been reporting brisk business.
Store manager Martina Murray is delighted with how the reopening has gone.
“Our Longford customers have reacted brilliantly to the new store since opening on Thursday, 8th August. The opening was an achievement in itself with so many people through the doors at 8:00am and in the days that followed. It’s certainly been made clear that the Longford community missed the Lidl bakery and we’re delighted to now offer a bigger selection of freshly baked breads and pastries available every day,” she stated.
“The bigger store offers an enhanced shopping experience for our customers with larger aisles, longer till-points, increased natural lighting as well as the bigger middle aisle with more bargains to be had.
“It’s been great to get the store team back together and to welcome new members of the team – we’re kept busy but it’s all very exciting,” Martina added.
The store was officially opened by members of the Longford ladies senior football team, reflecting Lidl’s ongoing support of ladies football.
