Building on success: Crowds to throng to Longford for exciting Marquee in Drumlish Festival

There is a remarkable line up of music over the weekend of The Marquee in Drumlish Festival.


Friday night of the festival kicks off in style with internet sensation Allie Sherlock.


Allie is a 19 year old singer songwriter from Cork who started her music career performing on the streets of Cork and Dublin.
She has headlined her own shows in Ireland and has also been the main support act for One Republic, Picture This, Freya Ridings and Gavin James around Europe.


Friday will also see performances by The Highstool Prophets. This Cavan band has been causing a huge sensation on the Irish music scene with a string of sold out shows, TV appearances and new music releases.

Expect some of your favourite songs from renowned folk artists, high energy trad sounds, and a memorable evening of entertainment. Ruaile Buaile complete the Friday night offering with their twist on folk and trad.


Ruaile Buaile are an Irish based five piece twisted-trad band, based inthe midlands of Ireland.


The group formed in 2011. In 2021, world renowned musician Cathal Guinan (Fiddle) joined the band, followed by Seán Bourke (banjo) in 2023.


Along with original members Niall Kelly (Vocals and Guitar), Jack Godley (Percussion) and Shane Lynam (Vocals and Bass), the quintet are entertaining audiences with a bigger than ever sound.


From upbeat old Irish favourites, ground thumping trad, and unique twists on recent day classics, this collective are bringing their energy to masses around Ireland and further afield.

On Saturday night, the marquee goes country with Jimmy Buckley and his band. Jimmy is one of Ireland’s best loved performers.


He has received numerous awards including the prestigious Entertainer of the year in the RTÉ music awards and he has also been regularly featured at The Annual Sunday World Awards.


Jimmy’s show features a variety of material, including country, big ballads and tribute medleys to the greats of country music Hank Williams and Charlie Pride.

He is followed by the return of the great Derek Ryan and his band to Drumlish.

Since 2006 Derek Ryan has established himself as one of the foremost names on the Irish country scene.


His long road from Garryhill, County Carlow to stardom has seen Derek hone his craft thanks to his life long love for music.


On Sunday Qween, Ireland’s most authentic Queen tribute band. Qween’s live two hour production of Queen’s greatest hits preserves the image, sound, and stage personas of classic Queen.


Chasing Abbey, who played the Festival in 2017, return as part of their 2024 tour.


They are a dance pop trio from Ireland who have honed their artistic talent to create a uniquely Chasing Abbey sound, achieved only by combining the group's pool of talent with each member being a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and producer.

Midlands band, Cronin, will continue their long standing relationship with the Marquee in Drumlish Festival when they return to the stage this year.


This marks the eleventh annual appearance at the festival and the committee are ecstatic to welcome them once more.
The last night of the festival, as always, will see Declan Nerney take centre stage.


Declan was born in the heart of Ireland in Drumlish, at aunique period of time in the music scene worldwide.


His sound is the very essence of Irish country and his song was the inspiration for the Festival.

On Monday night the Festival will also host the exceptional Nathan Carter.


Nathan recently performed a charity concert, entitled 'Locked Up', at Castlerea Prison in July.


Irish Prison Service said the show served as a fundraiser for three good causes in Roscommon and surrounding counties.


Nathan and Declan round off a wonderful weekend of quality music that is sure to entertain.
