An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a 17-year-old boy following a workplace accident has been launched.
Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to a fatal workplace accident at a premises in Co Cavan on Thursday, June 13, shortly after 4:30pm.
The fatal incident reportedly happened at a recycling facility. A 17-year-old boy was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Gardaí have said the boy's body has been removed from the scene sent to the mortuary in Cavan. A post-mortem will take place in due course.

The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) are aware of the incident and have launched an investigation. 'No further information is available at this time,' a HSA spokesperson said.
A file will be prepared for the Coroner's Court, the gardaí have said.
