Longford County Council planners have been approached about plans for a tourism project by one of Longford's top public houses.

Dillons Bar & Bistro, Ballinamuck, Longford have made the pre-validation approach to Longford County Council about the proposed tourism project.

The popular Longford hostelry is located in the heart of the historic village of Ballinamuck.

The proposed application relates to the construction of a glamping and camping accommodation site.

The plans consist of the proposed installation of six glamping pod accommodation units, camper van and caravan bays, landscaping, a children's outdoor play area and onsite car parking.

To accommodate the development the plans seek permission for proposed connections to the existing services onsite, such as wastewater, water and surface water.

The site would be located to the rear of existing public house and all ancillary site works.

The local authority planners received the initial contact last week and anticipate reaching a decision on July 30.
