Gardaí seized cannabis with an estimated value of €45,000 during a raid on a house at Abbeyshrule in Co Longford yesterday evening.
The operation, which was a joint undertaking by officers of the Divisional Drugs Unit and Detective Units, took place at approximately 9.45pm.
During a search of the property, gardaí found 55 cannabis plants and a quantity of cannabis herb.
Two men in their 20s were arrested at the scene under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 and were taken to Longford Garda Station for questioning. Both were later released and a file is to be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
