With final tallies completed in all three areas, a clear picture is beginning to emerge in relation to how the parties have performed in each area.
In Ballymahon, Fine Gael look to have notched up 44% of the votes, with Fianna Fáil at 32%. Sinn Féin received 7% in Ballymahon, while Independents are at 17%.
Independents seem to have made an impression in Longford, receiving 32% of the votes, with Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil at 33% and 30% respectively. Sinn Féin is currently at 4%.
Finally, in Granard, Fine Gael fared well in the final tally, pulling in 48% of votes, with 33% going to Fianna Fáil. Sinn Féin received 8% and Independents are at 11%.
