Local election update: John Browne (FG) and Gerry Warnock (Ind) elected in Longford Electoral Area

Fine Gael's John Browne has been elected in the Longford Electoral Area.
Following the distribution of outgoing Town Mayor Paul Connell’s votes, Fine Gael’s John Browne (831) and Independent Gerry Warnock (820) have been elected in the Longford Electoral area.

Following the distribution of outgoing Town Mayor Paul Connell’s votes, Fine Gael’s John Browne (831) and Independent Gerry Warnock (820) have been elected in the Longford Electoral area.

With a quota of 816 votes, Fianna Fáil’s Seamus Butler (774) and Fine Gael’s Peggy Nolan (745) are also expected to be elected on the next count.

The big battle is between Padraig Loughrey (630), Michael Connellan (592) and Mae Sexton (627) for the final two seats.

The results of the fifth count were as follows:

BROWNE John (Fine Gael) (+52) 831 (elected)

BUTLER Seamus (Fianna Fáil) (+27) 774

CONNELLAN Michael (Fianna Fáil) (+36) 592

LOUGHREY Padraig (Fianna Fáil) (+53) 630

NI MHURCHÚ Yvonne (Fine Gael) (+20) 534

NOLAN Peggy (Fine Gael) (+39) 745

SEXTON Mae (Independent) (+54) 627

WARNOCK Gerry (Independent) (+69) 820 (elected)
