Traffic delays following N4 collision while flooding disrupts rail services

Traffic on the N4 between Longford and Edgeworthstown has been reduced to one lane following an earlier collision.
Delays are expected on the N4 road between Longford and Edgeworthstown this evening after the route was reduced to one lane following a collision on the road earlier today.

Meanwhile Iarnród Éireann has announced that bus transfers are in place between Longford and Carrick-on-Shannon due to flooding on the railway line. The company has advised customers to expect delays of up to 40 minutes. In addition, this afternoon’s 1600 Dublin Connolly-Sligo service was cancelled, with passengers being accomodated on the 1705 service.

The flooding is also likely to impact services tomorrow, Tuesday.
