Iarnród Éireann has announced that the 16.00 Dublin-Sligo service has been cancelled for the third day in a row as flooding between Longford and Carrick-on-Shannon continues to cause problems for the transport operator.
Flooding on the railway line near Dromod has meant bus transfers have been in operation between Longford and Carrick-on-Shannon since Monday, and this arrangement is set to continue until at least next Monday, February 24. Delays of approximately 30 minutes are expected on all services.
In a notice on its website, the company advised passengers that today’s 16.00 service from Dublin to Sligo has been cancelled as a result. The same service was also cancelled on Monday and Tuesday.
