Longford Daffodil Day coordinator, Noeleen Doyle McTaggart has appealed for support as they prepare to go all in on Daffodil Day, Friday, March 22, to raise vital funds and give hope to cancer patients.
On average, 42,000 people are diagnosed with cancer each year in Ireland.
The Irish Cancer Society’s Daffodil Day funds crucial support services for people affected by cancer as well as lifesaving cancer research.
Members of the public can volunteer to sell Daffodils on the day, or simply buy a daffodil from local volunteers.
Public support is crucial, according to Noeleen, who urged locals to show their support on Daffodil Day.
“People of Longford have always been generous in their support of Daffodil Day, but with more people requiring the Irish Cancer Society’s free support services than ever before, we need to ramp up our efforts to ensure they get the help they need. Not only will donations fund services like the Irish Cancer Society Transport Service, Night Nursing and counselling, but also cancer research to help more people survive cancer. Please help us by volunteering to sell daffodils, or simply by buying a daffodil on March 22,” Noeleen said.
