Man hospitalised after crash

A man is due in court over the coming days in connection with a suspected petrol drive off that ended in the driver crashing his car and being brought to Mullingar’s Midlands Regional Hospital for treatment.

A man is due in court over the coming days in connection with a suspected petrol drive off that ended in the driver crashing his car and being brought to Mullingar’s Midlands Regional Hospital for treatment.

The 40-year-old took off from Gala, along Longford town’s Dublin Road at around 9pm last Wednesday without paying. Garda sources say the man, who was driving a black coloured hatchback, lost control at the junction between New Street and Dublin Street.
