FOROIGE: The Foroige club in Edgeworthstown is over for the present time and will resume in January, A big thank you to all who helped out and also those who contributed generously to their recent bag packing in Costcutters at the weekend.
FIRESIDE TALES
Fireside Tales, a book of local tales and lore from around the county, written and compiled by Jude Flynn, is now on sale in Costcutters, would make a nice christmas present at a cost of €20.
MEETING
St. Joseph's Young Priest Society meeting at 8pm on Thursday, December, 16th in The Parochial House.
BIRTHDAY
Happy belated birthdays to Diane Spillane, daughter of Mick and Eileen who celebrated her 30th birthday at the weekend with family and friends. A great night was had by all. Also happy 6th birthday to Calahan Flood, son of Emmet and Fidelma.
WAXATHON
A sucessful waxathon took place on Saturday night last in Gorman's Lounge, Edgeworthstown, Proceeds to Prostate cancer care. Kieran would like to thank all who contributed in any way.
SANTA
Santa made his way through the town on a vintage tractor and arrived to the green in style on Sunday last to a very excited crowd of children. There was fun galore in the Green as the children enjoyed the mini disco, face painting and refreshments. A huge thanks to all who helped make the day successful for all the kids. A special thank you to the following people : McCormac Fuels, Quinns Supply Stores, Garvey Garden Sheds, Ulster Bank, Duffs Super value, J &M Gift Stores, Antoinette Beirne and all the volunteers that helped on the day. And of course a special thank you goes out to the big man himself and his helpers. Photographs can be collected after wednesday 15th from the old schoolhouse on the Ballymahon road (ph 043 6671801)
