Santa Claus all set for Lough Ree RNLI Christmas Open Day
Santa Claus is going to take time out from his hectic schedule to attend the Christmas Open day at Lough Ree RNLI boathouse at Coosan Point on Saturday 16 December.
Lough Ree Station Visits Officer Paul Kelly said: ‘we have had a very special year welcoming visitors to our new facility. Among the most enthusiastic are our younger supporters and we are delighted that they will have the opportunity to meet Santa at the Christmas Open Day.’
The event is free and begins at 1:30, the occassion is focusses on children's activities such as a kids DJ providing the music, a special face painting booth and Santa arriving by boat to his special grotto in the lifeboat station at 3pm. The volunteer crew at Lough Ree RNLI will also welcome fellow first responders from Athlone Fire Service who will be at Coosan Point for the afternoon.
The RNLI pop-up shop will also be open for the afternoon. The shop will carry the full range of RNLI Christmas Cards along with many new products ahead of the charity’s 200th anniversary next year and a wide range of stocking fillers.
