The many friends of a Longford man and Kerry woman have offered their congratulations to the duo after their engagement in Iceland.
David Donohoe of Larkfield and Elaine O'Loughlin of Currow in Co Kerry announced their happy news while holidaying on the volcanic island last weekend.
Despite the physical distance between the arctic landscape of Iceland and the lakeshores of North Longford, the wonders of social media ensured that the good news spread like wildfire back home.
