Fine Gael’s James Bannon is one of nine TDs with foreign property interests, according to a paper published by the Oireachtas.
The Register of Interests includes details all occupational income and assets owned by Dáil members, with Deputy Bannon listed as owning an apartment in Gran Canaria, in addition to his properties in Longford and Dublin. Labour’s Willy Penrose has more significant interests abroad, with properties in Kent, Croydon, and Wigan in the UK, and two more in Holland and Estonia. According to the register, Deputy Penrose acquired these properties “by means of significant and substantial loans with financial institutions.”
