Voted as the Midlands leading vintage show, the event was officially launched at the Crossroads Inn, Lisryan.
Streete Vintage Show and Family Day is one of the days in the Midlands social calendar not to be missed.
The show, now in its twenty-first year will see many great attractions, including Country Music legend Johnny Brady and Longford country singing sensation Brid Shaughnessy.
The show launch was held in glorious sunshine with everyone enjoying a delicious barbecue burger sponsored by Powell Meats, Ardagh.
Kevin Brady, event organiser said, “We were delighted with the turnout. Our vintage show is now in its 21st year and although the weather was not kind to us in 2022 we hope the sun will shine and everyone will enjoy next Sunday’s show.”
The launch was a chance to get a sneak preview of the replica automobile invented by the world-famous Leonardo di Vinci in 1478. Eamon Creamer, of Creamer Engineering, works, Granard has painstakingly studied sketches from one of Leonardo’s most interesting works to reconstruct a wonderful piece of automotive history which will make its debut at the Streete Show on June 25.
Sunday's show will also feature something never seen before on Irish roads; a real American fire engine that saw on-call duty during 9/11. The man behind the beautiful ruby red fire truck finding its way to Streete is retired mechanic and grandfather-of-12, Liam Moore from Crumlin, Dublin.
Well-known vintage tractor enthusiast Andy Clancy also brought along his late uncle's Massey Ferguson, 135 which was bought from the Longford Arms Motor Works in 1973. This beautifully restored tractor will celebrate its 50th birthday around the same date as the Streete Show.
You will also get the opportunity to see Tommy Stell's fully restored Zetor tractor which rose from the grave and will take pride of place at the show.
The launch in Lisryan was almost like a vintage day with all the beautiful cars and tractors along with their owners and family who came out to support the occasion.
Kevin Brady said it was truly fantastic to see the community coming together for the launch and he expressed the hope that the fine weather will continue. He thanked everyone who turned out to lend their support and offer help.
Kevin concluded, “Our show has become a hugely popular annual event. For many it offers a warm and friendly place to meet up and for others it’s a great day out for kids and parents alike. Streete Vintage show is on Sunday, June 25 a day not to be missed.”
