Longford/Westmeath Marriage Referendum: Narrow victory for ‘Yes’ side in Ballymahon electoral area

The constituency of Longford/Westmeath has voted in favour of the Thirty-Fourth Amendment of the Constitution (Marriage Equality) Bill 2015 - Yes 53.6% (25,445) ; No 46.4% (22,025).

The constituency of Longford/Westmeath has voted in favour of the Thirty-Fourth Amendment of the Constitution (Marriage Equality) Bill 2015 - Yes 53.6% (25,445) ; No 46.4% (22,025).

Here is a breakdown of the tallies into how the people in the Ballymahon Electoral Area also narrowly voted in favour - Yes 50.29% , No 49.71% - of adding the following words to Article 41 of the Constitution:

“Marriage may be contracted in accordance with law by two persons without distinction as to their sex.”
