Longford groups receive €5,540 to fund physical activity for older people

Eighteen Longford groups are to receive €5,540 to help fund physical activity for older people.

Age & Opportunity announced on Tuesday (May 23) the distribution of its Active National Grant that provides significant funding for sport and physical activity amongst older people.

The successful Longford groups are:

Lanesboro Triathlon Club, Longford Mothers Union, Ballinamuck ICA Longford, Laurel Lodge Nursing Home, Granard Gun and Sports Club, Abbeylara ARA, Longford Town ICA, Newtowncashel ICA, Moatsiders Active Age Group, Newtownforbes Senior Citizens Club ARA, Hillside Club ARA, Legan ICA, The Harry Farrell Over 55's Badminton Club, Kenagh ICA, Coolamber ICA, Newtownforbes ICA, Ennybegs ICA, Granard ICA.
