The Eurochild Moving Wor(L)ds Tour will be in Longford on Wednesday, November 13.

It will be visiting St Michael’s Boys National School, Longford and Cnoc Mhuire Secondary School, Granard.

The purpose of the visit is to celebrate the work of the great young poets and artists whose work has been published in the latest edition of the Eurochild Anthology of Children’s Artwork and Poetry. And it will also include the Longford launch of Stealing Shakespeare’s Pencil (a teenage poetry anthology).

The day will begin at 9.30am, when noted local poet Mary Melvin Geoghegan will host a poetry-writing workshop for the 4th class pupils of St Michael’s Boys NS. The workshop will introduce the young pupils to writing poetry as a form of expression.

Then, later, a second workshop will be held for the students of Cnoc Mhuire, Granard at 3pm followed by a presentation to their principal and a few words from Eurochild and YouthLife editor Eoin Hurley.
