Dromard U10 girls in Croke Park
Top billing in this week's Dromard ladies football club notes is devoted to the U10 Panel, who along with Grattans, journeyed up to Croke Park to represent Longford in the Go Games Blitz.
An early start from Dromard saw us in Dublin for 9am in good time for our first of four matches at 10 15. We were grouped with Bray Emmetts, St Brigid's Carlow, Round Towers Lusk, Dublin and Truadh Monaghan.
The girls played some lovely football in all four games and we left Croke Park around lunchtime for a food stop in Kinnegad en-route home arriving back in Dromard just after 4pm.
This day will live long in the memories of 14 young ladies and we must acknowledge several people who made it all happen.
Laura Bleakley our development officer and Sharon Duffy our secretary, for nominating us for consideration and then organising the day's logistics. KBG Accountants, shirt sponsors and Thomas and Karen Martin, Breffni Insulation, shorts and socks for enabling the girls to look their best on the day. Raymond and Michelle Taaffe for sponsoring the food in Kinnegad, and Paul and Anne-Marie Horan for the goody bags. Finally all the parents and supporters who travelled up on the bus to show their support. It was well appreciated.
Panel :- Sorcha Taaffe, Marissa Farrell, Clodagh Horan, Sophie McGee, Lily Maguire, Robyn Brady, Ella Kelly Grimes, Caitlin Cassidy, Kate Martin, Jodi Shekelton, Eve Carragher, Mia Maguire, Lauren McDonald and Rachel Duffy. Not forgetting Finea Hynes who was away on holiday but makes up this U10 Panel of 15 great little footballers.
