The public are this week being urged to come forward and assist gardai following three burglaries in Longford and Ballymahon over the past seven days.

A quantity of domestic tools were stolen from a shed on the grounds of a private residence last Saturday.

Among the items taken were an MS 180 chainsaw, hedge trimmer and a seperate trimmer. All of the tools taken, which gardai believe occurred sometime between 9am and 6:50pm, were orange and white in colour.

Longford town healthcare provider, Finesse Medical was also the subject of a break-in over the course of last weekend. Although nothing appeared to be taken during the raid, an office was ransacked and the company’s front door was damaged as a result.

Two extension leads, a blue coloured drill and Honda generators were similarly snatched, this time from a house in the Batter Court area between the hours of 9am last Saturday morning and 7pm the following evening.

Seperately, gardai are anxious to speak with anyone who may have noticed anything untoward in the Castlecor area of Ballymahon between 9pm on July 3 (Tuesday) and 12 midday on July 4. An unidentified amount of motor oil was stolen, again from a private residence, leading gardai to appeal for witnesses.

Anyone with information in relation to any of these incidents is asked to contact Longford Garda Station at (043) 3346741.
