During a recent meeting of Longford Co Council, local area representative for the Granard area, Cllr PJ Reilly (FF) put forward a notice of motion in respect of the Granard Library and Town Hall building.
In his motion, Cllr Reilly suggested that it would be in the community’s best interests if the local authority wrote to Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government Phil Hogan TD seeking “an update” in relation to development proposals for the building.
“It is very important for this work to be carried out - in particular the refurbishment of our library in the town - as it is on the list of projects by the Department,” the local area representative added.
