Several thousand euros worth of cannabis herb have been recovered by gardai following a raid on a house in Longford town.
Officers from the Longford/Roscommon Divisional Drugs Unit made the discovery during the course of a planned search on Tuesday evening.
Gardai have estimaed the find, which took place in the Prospect Woods area of the town, at around €4,000.
No arrests were made, but a file is likely to be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), a spokesman told longfordleader.ie earlier today (Thursday).
Much will depend on what forensic results come back from experts over the next few weeks to determine whether any charges can be brought.
