The Protect Lanesborough Community Group will be holding a drop-in clinic tomorrow Saturday September 12 from 10am–2pm in the Lanesboro Parish Hall

A drop-in clinic will take place in Lanesboro Parish Hall tomorrow, Saturday, September 12, for anyone seeking assistance with making an official submission/objection to Longford County Council regarding the proposed Carrowroe Solar Farm.

The clinic will run from 10am to 2pm, with the Protect Lanesboro Community Group encouraging anyone who needs help with the paperwork or submission process to call in.

The proposed 363-acre industrial solar farm, which relates to lands between Lanesboro and Fermoyle National School, has prompted grave concern from residents of the region and the community group representing them.

They say the entire development would cover an area equivalent to 141 GAA pitches with the glass solar panels alone expected to cover an area larger than 47 GAA pitches.

Submissions and objections to the Carrowroe solar farm must be made to Longford County Council by September 22.
