Longford event to remember those who lost their lives during pandemic

As part of a National Day of Remembrance and Reflection, Longford will join with many other counties this Saturday, March 19 in remembering those who lost their lives during the Covid-19 pandemic and also paying tribute to those who helped us get through this very difficult period in our history.

The Longford event organised by Longford County Council and Longford Older Persons Council will take place at 2pm in The Mall at the Remembrance tree and plaque which was erected last October to remember those who died during the pandemic.

Everybody is asked to assemble at the Mall car park and will then proceed to the location where the tree was planted led by the Members of ONE and Longford Pipe Band.

An ecumenical service will take place with some readings and music and everyone is welcome.
