Jury trial for Longford man charged with threats to kill begins this afternoon

A man charged with threatening to kill two separate men on two separate dates will face trial before a jury of nine men and three women later today.

Thomas McDermott of 68 Cluain na Sidhe, Killashee, Co Longford, pleaded not guilty to threatening to kill or cause serious harm to another man on September 25, 2019 when he was arraigned before Longford Circuit Court yesterday afternoon.

He further pleaded not guilty to threatening to kill or cause serious harm to another man on February 2, 2019.

The three-day trial is due to open at 12pm today before Judge Francis Comerford at Longford Circuit Court.
