Longford Weather: Up to 20 degrees over the Bank Holiday Weekend

According to Met Éireann, temperatures this weekend could reach as high as 20 degrees Celsius.

The first of the warmer weather is due to arrive on Thursday, with warm, sunny spells and light winds forecast. Temperatures on the day are expected to vary from 13 to 18 degrees, coolest along the east coast.

The dry weather will continue overnight on Thursday and into Friday morning. Temperatures on Friday will remain similar to Thursday, varying from 16 to as high as 20 degrees Celsius, warmest in the west of the country.

On Saturday, it will be slightly milder, with warmest conditions in east Leinster. Cloud will increase on during the day, though temperatures will remain between 15 and 20 degrees, with light winds.

Current indications suggest a break in the weather on Sunday, with cloud increasing in the west and a risk of rain in places. Highest temperatures on the day of 14 to 20 degrees Celsius, with moderate to fresh southwest winds.
