County Longford Public Participation Network (PPN) are hosting one to one clinics with Chartered Environmental Scientist and Ecologist Billy Flynn and Tidy Towns groups on Monday, April 8 in Granard Library, Tuesday, April 9 in Ballymahon Library and Wednesday, April 10 in Longford Library.
Tidy Towns groups are being asked to contact the PPN office to schedule the preferred time slot for their one to one clinic. The PPN will facilitate 45-minute sessions from 10am until 4pm.
Siobhán Cronogue, PPN Development Officer said, “To date 26 Tidy Towns groups are registered members of the PPN and I encourage any group who is not yet a member to register online at longfordppn.ie.”
She said, “Billy will be assisting groups in making the most of their Tidy Towns entry, making a map that suits their area and showing them how to present additional information.”
Ms Cronogue pointed out, “Our Tidy Towns groups do tremendous voluntary work across the county so as a PPN we don’t want any group to miss out on the opportunity to avail of this support.”
Noreen Mc Loughlin, PPN Environmental Rep on the Secretariat said “We are delighted that Billy will be working with our Tidy Towns groups. Billy has been a National Tidy Towns Adjudicator since 2007 and has a wealth of experience helping Tidy Towns groups with biodiversity and improving their environment.”
County Longford PPN will also be hosting two biodiversity workshops on Thursday, April 18. These workshops will be open to all 341 member groups.
