New-look Longford Leader to hit shelves next week

Longford Leader

A new look Longford Leader will be hitting the shelves next week.

The Longford Leader is delighted to announce that next week the paper will have a completely new look, new content and a more reader friendly design.

We are introducing a new revamped section, Community, which along with our local notes will include more stories and photos from your area and an enhanced focus on what's happening in your community.

Along with this expect a new, bigger and brighter Longford Life section - replacing our Weekender section.

Jessica Thompson will have all that's happening in the world of entertainment while our talented photographers will be out and about covering events in your area providing full picture spreads.

We are further delighted to announce that we will be reintroducing our the Roving Leader column which was a huge hit with readers during the 1970s and this will be led by our recently appointed multi-media journalist Kevin Forde.

With local election fever hotting up, Liam Cosgrove will take an in-depth and, sometimes, humorous look at the political scene in his new column, The Parish Pump.

Mattie Fox’s The Week at Large column is very popular with Leader readers and his column will form the centrepiece of our newly designed views and opinions section.

Our resident archivist David Clarke will be extending his Down Memory Lane feature to two pages per week and each week, we feature a page of photographs from yesteryear that are certain to evoke plenty of fond memories.

In sport our local sports club notes have been expanded while sports editor, Padraic O’Brien will give us a unique look at what's happening on the sporting field.

So don't forget to pick up your copy of the new and enhanced Longford Leader next week. We promise you won't be disappointed.
