WATCH | Longford woman in the thick of the drama as Strokestown property is repossessed

Longford woman, Anna Kavanagh, who was at the scene of an incident in Strokestown this morning has posted a video on Facebook detailing events following a midnight raid, which left eight injured - three of whom were hospitalised.

A dog was also seriously injured and had to be put down afterwards, and several vehicles were set ablaze during events

"We've been asked to leave the area by the Gardaí, because it's become a crime scene," she said Ms Kavanagh who also alleged that, on Tuesday 12th December, "mercenaries from Northern Ireland" hired by a bank came to the isolated farm house and evicted the two elderly farmers and their sister.

She went on to say a retired Garda from Co Longford was in the house, along with a number of neighbours to stand in solidarity with the three residents of the house.
