Breaking: All gritting and ploughing of Longford roads will be suspended from 3pm today
Given the severity of the weather Longford County Council will only be gritting and snow plouging Priority 1 routes N4, N5, N63 and N55. No other routes will be gritted until further advised.
In addition to this all gritting/ploughing will be suspended from 3pm today until further notice.
Longford County Council will continue to monitor the weather situation.
Longford County Council again reminds the public to stay indoors and not travel during this severe weather event.
With regard to community support , Longford Civil Defence are not in a position to carry out certain duties at this time.
Longford County Council is grateful that the Army has been able to provide the necessary supports instead.
Longford Civil Defence vehicles and equipment are available to the Army if required.

Lanesboro Car park beside the playground.
Ballymahon Outside the GAA pitch on the N55.
Kenagh Old Community hall, Ballymahon road.
Edgeworthstown GAA Car park, Ballymahon road.
Newtowncashel Old quarry entrance, beside the GAA pitch.
Ardagh Car park/open area behind the playground.
Moyne Moyne Chip Dump
Legga Church Carpark opposite Dromard GAA Pitch
Smear Road Ladies Road at Junction with Aughnacliffe Arva Road
Abbeylara GAA Car Park
Toome, Mullinalaghta Mc Governs
Aughnacliffe Village Open space close to Public House
Mullinalaghta GAA Carpark
Drumlish Church Car Park
Ballinamuck Gaigue Cross depot for the village
