Longford Fine Gael general election candidate leads calls for Higginstown works


Cllr Micheál Carrigy wants upgrading works to be carried out at Higginstown in Granard

Fresh calls have been made for upgrading works to be carried out on recreational facilities at Higginstown in Granard.

They were championed by Cllr Micheal Carrigy at last week's Granard Municipal District meeting.

“The whole area needs an overhaul, especially the wiring around the basketball court,” he said.

“It’s developed by a local voluntary committee who are doing a lot of work there but it is something we should look at because it’s not safe for children.”
