News from the Attic House, Longford

The first year Attic committee is meeting weekly on Tuesdays from 6:30pm – 7:30pm. There is still space for new members. Apply at reception in the Attic House. The committee are currently preparing for their Christmas project.

The second year committee is meeting weekly on Wednesdays from 5pm – 6pm. The committee are currently completing the "Citizenship" programme ahead of starting their Citizenship project for the coming year.

The third year committee meets weekly on Wednesdays from 6pm – 7pm. There is still space for new members, and you can apply at reception in the Attic House. The committee are currently approaching local businesses for sponsorship to produce an "Attic Calendar/Planner". This project is aimed at supporting and promoting  local businesses, while raising much-needed funds to sustain activities for Attic Youth Clubs.

The senior committee meets weekly on Tuesdays from 5:30pm – 6:30pm. The committee is currently preparing to run the inter-school "Sixth Class Monster Quiz" which will be held on November 14 from 7:30pm – 9:30pm in the Temperance Hall, Longford. This group is also looking forward to attending this year’s Foróige Ball, being held in the Cavan Crystal Hotel on November 25.

Junior (first year – third year) group Boys and Girls Groups are running weekly on Thursdays. These groups are aimed at promoting fitness, healthy lifestyle, socialising with peers and general wellbeing. Boys group takes place from 4:30pm – 6pm and girls group is held from 6pm – 7:30pm. 

There are still some places left in both of these groups, and those interested can apply within the Attic House. 

The Monday Music Group, meeting weekly from 6-7.30pm, are preparing for their live music launch night, on Monday the 24th of October from 6.30-8.30pm, all secondary school attending young people are welcome to attend, refreshments and live entertainment on the evening . There are still spaces left in this group for young people interested in music and performance, inquire withing the Attic House. 

The attic are delighted to announce that on wednesday the 19th of September from 5-7pm Aguest speaker from Team Hope Ireland will be coming to speak to all Groups in the attc house about the shoe box appeal that they're running
