Special meeting of Longford Corporate Policy Group in response to Cameron job losses

The Cathaoirleach of Longford County Council, Councillor Mick Cahill, has called a special meeting of the Corporate Policy Group (CPG) of Longford County Council for  Monday, October 10 at 1pm in the Council Chamber at Áras an Chontae, Great Water Street, Longford.

The CPG comprises the Cathaoirleach of Longford County Council (Cllr Mick Cahill) and the Councillors who chair the various Strategic Policy Committees at Longford County Council (Councillors Seamus Butler, Mae Sexton, Micheál Carrigy, and P.J. Reilly).

The purpose of the meeting is to address the emerging situation at Cameron Ireland Limited regarding potential job losses at the facility that has been one of County Longford’s most successful and high profile companies over the last 38 years.

Representatives from the IDA, Enterprise Ireland, the Regional Skills Forum, Longford County Council's Local Enterprise Office as well as Longford Westmeath Deputies Peter Burke, Kevin ‘Boxer’ Moran, Willie Penrose and Robert Troy have also been invited to the meeting.
