Forget your Niveas, your Doves and your Vaselines - for your best beauty products this year one need look no further than Handmade in Ennybegs.

The brainchild of the Ennybegs Guild of the Irish Countrywomen’s Association (ICA), the label, which is still in its infancy, offers two organic products which are guaranteed to help you look and feel great.

“Ennybegs Guild have created a homemade lip balm,” explained Guild President Stephanie Igoe, revealing that the product is made with beeswax, organic coconut oil, sunflower oil and Vitamin E, all purchased locally.

The second product is a dry body scrub, which cleans, scrubs and softens the skin. It contains epsom salt and extra virgin olive oil.

“You rub it on your skin dry before you get into the bath or shower and it leaves your skin very soft and smooth,” Stephanie continued.

Of course, the women of the guild can attest to the products’ quality, having tested it themselves before putting it up for sale.

“I have stopped buying the soaps in the drugstore because this product, the dry body scrub, does everything I need it to do,” Stephanie admitted.

Having started as a fun group activity, Stephanie revealed that she was surprised by the products’ popularity.

“I think we’re all surprised at how excited people are by it. People are genuinely interested in the product.”

The best part is the price. At just €2 for the lip balm and €3.50 for the body scrub, this is beauty that won’t break the bank. Handmade in Ennybegs products are available to purchase from any guild member and they will also be on sale at the Longford Agricultural Show on July 3.
