Ladies Pamper Night goes down a treat

€2,203.55 raised for St Christopher's Services

Ladies Pamper Night goes down a treat

The organisers of the recent Ladies Pamper Night in aid of St Christopher’s Services, Jo Purkis and Paula O'Connor, were so enthused by the positive response to the event that they are considering making it a regular date on the Longford social calendar.

“There was a great atmosphere on Thursday, April 7 and the room in the Longford Arms Hotel was buzzing with excitement,” revealed Jo and Paula.

The grand total of €2,203.55 was raised for St Christopher's and Jo and Paula were delighted with the success of the night.

Admission was €25, and this included champagne, canapes, a goodie bag worth over €10 and a treatment.

Jo and Paula extended a sincere thanks to local businesses who volunteered their time to provide lots of lovely treats to choose from, including;

Hair styles by Hair Square, Nails by Esther, Reflexology by Phil Murray, Reiki by Andrew Beech, Indian Head Massage & Reiki by Bernadette, Facials & Swedish Massage by Ambience, Angel Cards by Edel O'Hanlon and Psychic Readings by Jane.

The various stands offered a relaxed retail experience where guests could pick up some fabulous gift and health tips, fitness and beauty products and find out about services offered locally, including:

Millinery and Accessories by Wendy Louise Designs, Art by Sam McGarry, Plus Size Clothing by Aine, Flutterby Crafts by Michelle Lambert, Costume Jewelry and Plants by Isabel, Personalised Frames by Rose from Picture Perfect Scrabble, a selection of bags, purses, scarves and jewellery by Mia's Bling, a selection of underwear sets and the new range of fashion tights available in Cherche La Femme by Sharon, and Shauna's Pilates, showcasing her stock of Lululemon Athletica Activewear and information on her practice of teaching mat and reformer Pilates.

Jo and Paula requested local businesses to offer a donation towards the costs associated with running the night, and they were overwhelmed by the generosity they received from:

Hair by Ronan, The Brandywell, Tighe's Centra Rooskey, Costcutters Edgeworthstown, Conefrey's Pub Edgeworthstown, Girasole Pizza & Pasta, Bia Deas Cafe Edgeworthstown, Dobson's Jeweller's, Byrne's Filling Station, Loughrey's Pharmacy, The Red Rose Cafe, Providers, Kelleher's Spar, Viewmount House, Specsavers and Bank of Ireland, Longford Branch.

A remarkable €1,100 worth of raffle prizes were also donated and Cian O'Connor did a superb job as MC.

Sponsors of raffle prizes included: Cullen's Shoes, MJ Early's, Couture, Doyle's Bar, The Hair Trapp, Ron Mullins Hairdressers, Celtic Jewels, Elegant Interiors, Furniture Cash & Carry, Omniplex Longford, ICM Cycles, Bowling Alley, Cherche La Femme, Chic Beauty, Freckles, Quinn's Supply Stores, Tully's Pharmacy, Unique Boutique, Spirit, vouchers for Reiki Treatments by Paula, Picture Perfect Scrabble, Holly Blue Hairdressers, Macaris, Paul Byron's, Shanley's and the Richmond Inn.

Jo (086-1504395) and Paula (087-9313615) thanked everyone for their generosity and support, and they can be contacted if anyone wishes to obtain information on Forever Living business opportunities, “which allowed them the time to organise the Ladies Pamper Night for St Christophers.”
