Poor energy ratings for Longford homes

Longford people are being encouraged to consider availing of a grant to improve energy efficiency in their homes.
Local TD Robert Troy said that recent figures from the CSO show that “29% of all homes in Longford have a Building Energy Rating of either 'F-G' or 'E' which is the poorest rating when it comes to determining energy efficiency. In contrast just 10% of homes achieve the highest rating of 'A-B'.
“Homeowners with poor energy efficiency ratings should be aware that they can avail of the Better Energy Homes Scheme operated by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland. This scheme provides grants for works such as roof and wall insulation, heating controls upgrade, installation of high efficiency boilers and solar heating.”
